Privacy Policy

Effective 7 October 2026

The short version: we collect only what it takes to run the planner. There are no ads, no analytics or tracking scripts, and we never sell your data. You can delete your account from the app at any time.

Who we are

Factory Planner (factoryplanner.net and app.factoryplanner.net) is a free tool run by an independent developer. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the person who runs it. For anything about your privacy, email privacy@factoryplanner.net.

What we collect

  • Account details. When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, that provider shares your name, email address and an identifier for your account with us. We never see your password.
  • What you create. Your projects, layouts, and the results of optimiser runs.
  • Sharing. If you invite someone to a project, we store their email address and the invitation. Members of a project you belong to may see your name and email address.
  • Technical data. Like any website, our servers and network providers receive your IP address and basic browser information with each request, which they use to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

The demo works without an account and doesn’t ask for any personal information.

Cookies

The app uses a cookie to keep you signed in. It’s needed for the app to work. We don’t use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.

How we use it

We use your information to sign you in, save and show your work, let you share projects with people you invite, run the optimiser, keep the service secure, and reply when you contact us. We don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t sell or rent it to anyone.

Who else processes it

We rely on a few service providers, each of which handles data only as needed to provide its service:

  • Render hosts the app and its database.
  • Cloudflare delivers the websites and protects them from attacks.
  • Google or Microsoft, whichever you choose, handles sign-in.
  • PayPal processes donations, if you choose to make one. PayPal’s privacy policy applies to the payment, and we receive the details PayPal shares with recipients.
  • GitHub hosts our public issue tracker. Anything you post there is public and covered by GitHub’s privacy policy.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it. These providers may process data in countries other than yours.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and content while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings in the app. This removes your account and any projects that only you belong to. Projects you share stay with their other members, including what you contributed to them. Email us if you want anything else removed.

Your choices and rights

You can see and edit your account details in the app, and delete your account there too. You can also email privacy@factoryplanner.net to ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or its deletion. Depending on where you live, for example in the EU, the UK or California, you may have further rights under local law, and we will honour them.

Children

Factory Planner isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the effective date above. If a change is significant, we’ll also point it out on the site.
